It appears to the Committee that in all matters in relation

to the S.S. "Ling Nam" the officers of the Court were acting in purported execution of the powers and authorities vested in the Supreme Court under the law.

In view of paragraph 2 of the minute by His Honour The Chief Justice appearing on page 4 of C.S.O. File No. 3 in 1048/1925 it would appear that the due performance of their duties in this behalf is essentially a matter for the Judges

of the Court.

The Committee therefore does not feel that it should

venture further than to suggest the advisability of the Registrar seeking the earliest possible opportunity of bringing to the notice of the Court the arrangements which have in the past been made for the custody and maintenance of the ship

and the payment and rationing of the crew, and the apparently

abortive nature of the recent sale, with a view to obtaining

such orders and directions as may be necessary in order to

regularize the position.

Dated the 29th day of November, 1926.
